P&T Luxembourg Launches Sale Of Postage Stamps On Diebold Opteva® ATMs
Postal institution has chosen to sell stamps via its network of ATMs - an initiative that shows the progressive expansion of non-banking services at ATMs
29 November 2010
Diebold engineers and P&T Luxembourg technicians collaborated on the development of this application, which was easily implemented because of the flexibility of Diebold’s Opteva ATMs. Diebold’s Agilis® multi-vendor software has also been deployed on all of the ATMs.
“This service offer for buying stamps from ATMs belonging to Post & Telecommunications structures was only possible through the close and professional collaboration between the Stamp Office, the Postal Sales Network, the Postal Finance Department and Diebold Luxembourg. The functional innovation opens new prospects for future uses of the ATM,” said Guy Ferber, Head of Information Support Services - Postal Division.
“The close cooperation between Diebold, P&T Luxembourg, Enschede (Netherlands) and Avery Dennison Corporation, the printer and the supplier of the self-adhesive stamps distributed from our automats, contributed to the successful completion of this project,” said Gilbert Gazon, director of Diebold Luxembourg. “I have no doubt that the success of the operation - already enthusiastically supported by consumers in Luxembourg - will mean its swift extension into other countries throughout Europe.”
