Diebold Services Continue To Enhance University Federal Credit Union's ATM Operations

Services streamline management; improve uptime of UFCU's self-service channel

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Delivering a variety of integrated services, Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) is simplifying the management and maintenance of University Federal Credit Union's (UFCU) fleet of more than 100 Opteva® automated teller machines (ATMs). Diebold's services will enhance ATM uptime, security and compliance for the Austin, Texas-based credit union, as well as reduce demands on UFCU's staff.

UFCU is Austin's largest locally owned financial institution, serving more than 162,000 members. It operates 15 branches in central Texas and Galveston. Recent technology enhancements, including the addition of Diebold deposit automation-enabled ATMs, have elevated the role of UFCU's self-service channel, prompting the credit union to reduce the complexity of managing its fleet.

"Our ATM network has expanded with the recent openings of four Interactive Financial Centers (IFCs) that rely heavily on self-service solutions. Diebold assisted with the design and implementation of our IFC tellerless branches, and now the company will reduce demands on our staff to service and manage terminals at those branches and across our fleet," said Steve Kubala, Senior Vice President, Virtual Retail, UFCU. Enhancing security and promoting Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance for UFCU's ATMs, Diebold will maintain up-to-date anti-virus software on the credit union's terminals using ATM Endpoint Protection by Symantec™. Diebold will also confirm all programs have the latest security patches through its software deployment service. In addition, UFCU will be able to view ATM compliance status updates and track usage, cash utilization and other statistics via Diebold's Services Electronic Reporting Access System (SERAS).

Diebold's OpteView® Resolve™ ATM availability management monitoring solution will help improve the uptime of UFCU's ATMs. The solutions allow Diebold to identify and diagnose ATM errors, enable remote fixes and automatically deploy service technicians when needed.
