NORTH CANTON, Ohio, April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) today announced that Bassem Bouzid has been appointed senior vice president and managing director of the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division, effective May 1. In this role, Bouzid will lead the company's operations throughout the region.

Bouzid has held various executive-level positions at several global high-tech and service-oriented companies, where he gained expertise in growing and transforming organizations on an international scale.  During his career, he held prominent leadership roles at IBM for more than seven years, and at Alcatel Telecoms.  Most recently, Bouzid spent 10 years at HP, the past four of those developing the Enterprise Services business in the Middle East and Africa, where he drove profitable growth and market expansion.

A French national, Bouzid earned a master's degree from the University of Paris. He will report to George S. Mayes, Diebold executive vice president and chief operating officer. Bouzid will be based in Diebold's Paris office and the company's EMEA headquarters will remain in London.
