Rugged Opteva® 522 cash-dispensing ATM offers industry-leading features, maximum consumer convenience

With its small footprint and protective housing, the weatherized Opteva 522 offers the ideal solution for institutions wishing to extend their service and brand by deploying cash dispensers in off-site locations, which are often exposed to the natural elements. This Diebold ATM gives institutions the ease and flexibility to deploy the cash dispensers in athletic stadiums, amusement parks, musical venues and other high-traffic outdoor sites where inclement weather and extreme temperatures could damage non-weatherized terminals.
“The Opteva 522 makes it possible for us to expand the reach of our brand and create new touchpoints with our customers; two critical activities to help our institution advance in the competitive financial industry,” said Curt Tiettmeyer, vice president, corporate facilities, Fifth Third Bank. “Diebold has been a key provider of ATM solutions for many years. It continues to provide us with innovative solutions to this important customer channel.”
The Opteva 522 exterior cash dispenser, which is available for sale in the United States, delivers all of the advanced capabilities of Diebold’s standard Opteva 522 cash dispenser. The new model, however, is built with a rugged weatherized housing and offers heating as a standard capability, as well as optional air conditioning – both of which are often recommended for optimal performance in locations with varying climate. The Opteva 522 exterior cash dispenser includes a touch screen that consumers can use while wearing gloves, a distinct advantage in cooler climates.
“For banks and credit unions, Diebold’s free-standing weatherized cash dispenser represents a flexible, cost-effective way of expanding their self-service network into areas previously considered off-limits because of weather-related concerns,” said John M. Deignan, vice president and chief marketing officer, Diebold. “By being available in more locations commonly accessed by the banking public, this Diebold solution also helps financial institutions meet increasing consumer expectations for convenient access to banking services.”
The Opteva unit’s five-cassette capacity ensures maximum availability, and its intelligent modules forecast maintenance needs, allowing financial institutions to respond proactively. Opteva technology also delivers one of the highest levels of uptime in the industry, as well as multiple layers of fraud protection.
