Diebold Expands Advanced Dealer Program With Video Verification Solution

Videofied wireless video intrusion alarms provide alarm verification for priority law enforcement response

Diebold’s Advanced Dealer Program combines alarm monitoring with video verification
through Videofied wireless video intrusion alarms.

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – With the aid of a 10-second video clip sent via an encrypted wireless system, security monitoring stations can immediately verify alarm events and make decisions about dispatching law enforcement. Using Videofied wireless video surveillance technology, Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) is bringing this capability to market by combining alarm monitoring and video verification in one compact package that can be applied to locations previously considered inaccessible. The solution is a new offering for members of Diebold’s Advanced Dealer Program to help their customers enhance security, improve response times and eliminate false alarm fees.

Videofied, a product of RSI Video Technologies, utilizes “MotionViewer®,” a wireless motion detection sensor with integrated camera to capture video, as well as a cellular communicator to transmit files to a central monitoring station like Diebold’s award-winning Monitoring Center. There, operators view the footage and quickly verify the status of the detected event. If the station confirms an intrusion or threat, it informs law enforcement and first responders. If the alarm is false, the station can cancel the alarm without dispatching responders.

“As a stand-alone, cost-effective solution, the Videofied offering provides new opportunities for our dealers to provide advanced alarm monitoring services,” said Steve Ipson, director, advanced dealer program development, Diebold. “When combining this service with Diebold’s Monitoring Center capabilities, they connect their end customers with proven, responsive operators trained to handle any type of alarm event.”

Videofied cordless/wireless applications range from small businesses and private homes to commercial spaces and warehouses. The units, which run on batteries that last up to four years, are ideal for remote locations like critical infrastructure, cellular towers and gas wells where power may not be available. Videofied MotionViewer® can capture video both day and night using a Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor and infrared illuminators. The camera activates when the system is in surveillance mode and a sensor detects movement. The equipment performs self-checks every eight minutes to confirm proper operation.

Diebold Authorized Dealers have the option to connect their customers’ Videofied installations to Diebold’s Monitoring Center, which is Five-Diamond certified by the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) and is UL and UL-2050 certified by Underwriters Laboratories. It was named CSAA’s Central Station of the Year in 2007 and 2011 and received a 2010 Call Center Excellence Award from the International Quality & Productivity Center (IQPC). In addition, Diebold was named the North American Commercial Monitoring Company of the Year by Frost & Sullivan in 2009 and 2010.

The Diebold Advanced Dealer Program helps qualified dealers expand their portfolios beyond traditional alarm monitoring. In addition to video verification, Diebold Authorized Dealers can offer their customers Diebold’s energy management, Site Sentry® video monitoring and management, managed access control, security monitoring, DVR Health Check, weather detection notification and police permit management solutions.
