Diebold Advanced Dealer Program Adds Fire Monitoring, Pacific Island Members

Atech Fire & Security and Guam-based Securitech Solutions Inc. join exclusive program

New members join Diebold Advanced Dealer Program:
Fire monitoring provider Atech Fire & Security and Guam-based Securitech Solutions Inc.

19 September 2011
NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) Advanced Dealer Program has added an influential fire and security provider and expanded its geographic reach. Atech Fire & Security has joined forces with Diebold to help accelerate acceptance of Internet Protocol-based (IP-based) technologies for fire monitoring. In addition, Guam-based Securitech Solutions Inc. is the first dealer located in the Pacific Islands to join the program. Both companies will help secure their customers’ assets via Diebold’s award-winning Monitoring Center.

With offices in New York City and Pompano Beach, Fla., Atech serves the eastern United States. The company is adding Diebold’s fire detection solutions and services, as well as security monitoring services to its portfolio. Atech can now leverage Diebold’s IP-based network technologies and Monitoring Center to protect its customers’ facilities and advance best practices in fire monitoring. Fire monitoring installations require two communication links – a primary device and a backup device – connected to a central station. While the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has certified IP communications as the primary link, local jurisdictions have been slow to accept them. Through its engagement with Diebold, Atech will continue its push for broader acceptance of IP networks as primary communication links.

Securitech will leverage Diebold’s managed access control and Site Sentry® remote video monitoring and management solutions to service customers in Guam and other countries located in the western Pacific Ocean. Diebold will manage these solutions remotely from its Monitoring Center in Green, Ohio. While Securitech operates its own central station, it would need to invest heavily in infrastructure and personnel to add access control and video solutions on its own. By leveraging Diebold’s established infrastructure and cloud-based services, Securitech can offer these solutions immediately and more cost effectively, while eliminating equipment maintenance needs.

“We value working with qualified dealers like Atech Fire & Security and Securitech Solutions to provide our advanced security and monitoring solutions to a broader customer base,” said Steve Ipson, director, advanced dealer program development, Diebold. “These innovative integrators make great additions to our growing program.”

Diebold’s Monitoring Center is Five-Diamond certified by the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) and UL and UL-2050 certified by Underwriters Laboratories. It was named CSAA’s Central Station of the Year in 2007 and 2011 and received a 2010 Call Center Excellence Award from the International Quality & Productivity Center (IQPC). Diebold was named the North American Commercial Monitoring Company of the Year by Frost & Sullivan in 2009 and 2010.

The Diebold Advanced Dealer Program helps qualified dealers expand their portfolios beyond traditional alarm monitoring. Diebold Authorized Dealers can offer their customers Diebold’s energy management, Site Sentry® video monitoring and management, managed access control, security monitoring, video verification, DVR Health Check, weather detection notification and police permit management solutions.
