Belgian Post Implements Diebold Multi-Vendor Software; Awards ATM Outsourcing Contract
30 September 2014NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Belgian Post (bpost), the leading postal operator in Belgium, has implemented multi-vendor software from Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) across its network of 450 heterogeneous automated teller machines (ATMs). The company has also outsourced management of its entire fleet of ATMs to Diebold. As part of the agreement, Diebold will deliver a variety of services, including monitoring, maintenance and managing the compliance needs and uptime of bpost's ATM network. The combination of Diebold's class-leading multi-vendor software and services significantly reduces complexity and improves the performance of bpost's ATM network, allowing the company to focus on growing and improving its business.
Headquartered in Brussels, bpost provides a range of postal, courier, direct marketing and electronic services throughout Belgium. Its extensive ATM fleet spans its entire retail network of post offices, post shops, eShop and stamp shops.
"Partnering with Diebold is helping us better align our internal resources to concentrate on growth and strengthening customer relationships," said Kristof Thys, operations support manager, bpost retail and corporate solutions. "With Diebold managing our self-service channel, our branch representatives will have more time to focus their attention on serving customers' needs rather than servicing ATMs."
The monitoring services Diebold is providing also allows bpost to align with the most recent Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance requirements by ensuring all ATMs have the latest security patches, anti-virus and operating system software.
"We continue to lead with our unparalleled multi-vendor software and service capabilities to expand our footprint in Europe," said Bassem Bouzid, senior vice president and managing director, Diebold Europe, Middle East and Africa. "As bpost's ATM fleet continues to grow, Diebold is able to drive efficiencies, enhance security and maintain compliance -- all while delivering peace of mind and a richer consumer experience for bpost's customers."
