At EuroCIS, Diebold Nixdorf Presents Innovations for the Future of Shopping

Storevolution™ program introduces new technologies throughout the consumer journey

DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY – At EuroCIS, the leading trade fair for retail technology, Diebold Nixdorf (NYSE: DBD) – the world leader in driving connected commerce – will present state-of-the-art technologies that enable intuitive journeys for shoppers across all channels and enrich the in-store experience. As part of its Storevolution™ consumer journey-centric approach, the company will showcase solutions for the future of shopping from February 27 to March 1 at Stand C26 in Hall 9.

Today's retailers’ challenges are: How to engage with their customers? How to differentiate? How to innovate? This is where Diebold Nixdorf’s Storevolution™ program comes in: Customer centricity, store digitalization and high connectivity form the cornerstones of future-oriented retailing. If customer journeys are indeed of the utmost importance, then managing multiple technology vendors can complicate the process. The store-as-a-service cornerstone ensures the customer journeys are “always on” and secured by leveraging the support of a trusted retail partner via a service-based approach. For this reason, Diebold Nixdorf will place its focus at EuroCIS on innovations that cover all the processes along the customer journey.

  • In terms of implementing new customer journeys: “Scan & Go” is a time-saving journey enabling consumers to use mobile devices to scan their goods themselves and pay for them at a self-service terminal when they leave the store. The advantage: All scanned items can conveniently be placed directly in a bag while shopping. Diebold Nixdorf supports this form of self-scanning with its new software solution Vynamic™ Mobile Shopper in combination with mobile hand-held scanners available in the stores. For consumers who want to use their own smartphone as a scanner, Diebold Nixdorf offers the VynamicTM Mobile Retail app, which enables customers to use their smartphones to scan the items.  With “Tap & Go” Diebold Nixdorf introduces a consumer journey that makes it possible to digitally register items by tapping a mobile phone on NFC enabled electronic shelf labels or NFC tags that have been integrated into the shelf. Customers then pay electronically or with cash, at which point they are given a receipt imprinted with a barcode that enables them to open an exit gate to leave the store.
     
  • The new, cloud-based software-as-a-service solution VynamicTM Engage lays the foundation for cross-channel promotions and real-time campaigns that improve the shopping experience at every touchpoint. By capturing, combining and analyzing customer data, VynamicTM Engage generates 360° comprehensive customer profiles, enables retailers to personally address customers on the basis of earlier shopping patterns, promotes customer loyalty and ultimately creates higher revenues.
  • Diebold Nixdorf is also showcasing a large number of  BEETLE POS systems as well as a Self-Checkout portfolio. As self-service checkouts became more widely adopted across all retail store formats, Diebold Nixdorf has worked closely with its customers to develop a truly modular family of self-service checkouts that allow retailers to deploy different combinations of checkouts to their stores in order to meet the growing needs of today’s consumers. Showcased at EuroCIS 2018, Diebold Nixdorf is demonstrating the three main variants of unit: The BEETLE /iSCAN EASY Express provides a best-in-class card-only solution perfect for smaller convenience stores. The BEETLE /iSCAN EASY SCO, a more traditional self-service checkout solution, possesses full-card and cash-recycling capabilities, while the BEETLE /iSCAN EASY Hybrid solution provides all the benefits of self-checkout with the flexibility to be converted into an assisted lane providing both the maximum lane availability combined with the throughput benefits of an assisted lane. Furthermore, with a note recycler located in the store’s cash office, these modules lay the foundation for automated banknote processing.
    Diebold Nixdorf is also showcasing two new all-in-one BEETLE /iPOS systems and has extended its portfolio to include a new payment solution based on a 6" tablet that can be used anywhere in the store.
  • For its new generation of reverse vending systems, Diebold Nixdorf offers its customers CONCENTRATE (CONtrol CENter of TRAnsaction iTEms) – a modern fleet-management tool that condenses a variety of operational data into meaningful graphics and statistics. This enables store managers to monitor the status and performance of all installed systems through a Web interface both from their office and on the go.
